Vampire Weekend

June 16, 2009

is like one of those bands where you’re like ‘oh, i totally listened to them before everyone did’ as if that made a difference in the long run, or in any way at all.

But it still feels good to say it, right?

It goes the same for the saying: i told you so. It definitely applies. Because, no matter how horrible or cruel the thing you’re predicting or forewarning about happens, it still feels mildly good to know you were right – as if you’ve got a grip, some control on the world, even if it’s not your own.

Don’t get me wrong, as good as it feels and as much as you wouldn’t physically admit that, it still sucks. Because as bad as it sounded when you said it as a warning, it was somewhat of a joke, not seriously, and even still avoidable. When it happens, it really does suck.

So i suppose this really isn’t about Vampire Weekend, but more of how it sucks to get the ‘i told you so’ feeling, because when you get right down to it: it sucks, sucks, sucks.
